ABOUT

The Ruth Ann V. Monroe Summer Basketball League is a free annual basketball program serving youth from under-resourced communities In Hagerstown, MD.

Now in its 63rd year, the league is one of the longest-running community sports programs in the region and a cornerstone of summer for local families.

Games are held Sundays at Wheaton Park, drawing 500+ attendees each week for basketball, music, and community fellowship.

Hosted by Beyond the Arc Foundation 501c3, the league features a live DJ, local vendors, and serves as a platform for youth interested in careers in sports, media, and entertainment. It remains free for all participants, ensuring access regardless of financial circumstances.
